This conversational KWNK mixtape titled 'White Dove In The Psychic Temple' comes to you from Redfield Clipper and friends. Read our interview with Redfield about weed, music and more below. Then kick back and soften the blow of your workweek with this mellow potcast.

Tell me a little bit about yourself. Who are you? What are you into?

My name is Nick aka. Redfield Clipper. I’m 24 years old, and I’ve lived in Reno for 6 yrs or so. I came here to study jazz at the University (of Nevada, Reno) and I got my degree there. I recently quit my retail job, and I’m a full time musician - producing and playing music. My brainchild is Redfield Clipper, an experimental hip hop group.

Where are you from?

I was born in Iowa, but Vegas is home.

By the sounds of it - you smoke a lot of weed. Is that true?

Yeah, pretty regularly. Maybe everyday?

Does smoking help you as a musician?

If I get stuck in a spot, it’s a good reset. It’s nice at the end of the day to come down a little bit too.

Where’d you get the name “White Dove In The Psychic Temple”?

Me and Nico were sitting together smoking and talking about this idea. We were listening to this tune ‘White Dove In The Psychic Temple’ and thought it was a funny and poetic and didn’t really mean anything. It’s a song by Chris Schlard.

Tell us more about your mixtape/potcast.

We started this potcast to give some people around the city something to casually smoke to, if they’re smoke alone. And also provide some info on different strains so they can know what they’re looking for when they go to the dispensaaries. And also share good music that we’re like too.

Our friend Joe is an analytical chemist for Medmen, and throughout the podcast he gives a rundown on some of the strains we discuss - THC levels, terpenes, what kind of high the flower will produce. There were 6 of us recording the mixtape, so we put together a playlist of things we like to smoke to, which has got to be the most diverse playlist ever. There’s a lot of electronic and jazz music; there’s some trap and hip hop; there’s even some world music on there too.

Anything else you want to share?

I just want to shoutout everyone that was apart of the mixtape/potcast. Nico, he does poetry about the strains. Joe Woolford is our resident analytical chemist. Tha Duke, he talks about the products. Duncan Wilson and Cameron Sax, they are both weed conneisseurs with exquisite musical taste.
