The greenest day of the year is here, so it's time to pump up the jams and celebrate the plant that inspires us to keep things moving.
Mixtape XXXVI: The Dark Side of DankDecember 3, 2018
This week's Mixtape was curated by Garrett, the first Blackbird to land in Las Vegas.
My name is Garrett Dillon and I'm a dispatcher and the first person hired in Las Vegas when Blackbird started operations here, a title which I am extremely proud of. I'm also an aspiring poet and writer.
What is the name of your mixtape?
The Name of my Playlist is the Darker Side of Dank: Doom/Sludge
What was the inspiration in making your playlist?
I was inspired to make this playlist mostly because I don't see this kind of music represented in the mainstream cannabis industry and culture. While sunnier genres such as reggae, jam band and hip-hop have dominated the musical space of the marijuana world, more bleak musical styles which directly address the depression, pain and anxiety that many consumers turn to cannabis to soothe are often shut out despite their relevance to the cannabis experience.
Are you a creative person?
I consider myself creative, though so do most people and some of us might be wrong.
What keeps you creative?
Everyday life and the measures we take to enhance or avoid it keep me creative.
What keeps you moving?
Cannabis and poetry.
